Graveyard Shift by Angela Roquet‏

Urban fantasy author Angela Roquet is a great big weirdo. She collects Danger Girl comic books, owls, skulls, and random craft supplies. Her obsessions include the Wizard of Oz, over-sweetened coffee, and all things Joss Whedon. She's a fan of renewable energy, marriage equality, and religious tolerance. As long as whatever you're doing isn't hurting anyone, she's a fan of you, too.

Angela lives in Sedalia, Missouri with her husband and son. When she's not swearing at the keyboard, she enjoys painting, goofing off with her family and friends, and reading books that raise eyebrows. GRAVEYARD SHIFT, the first novel in Angela's Lana Harvey, Reapers Inc. series, is now available for FREE on Kindle, Nook, & Smashwords.

The Inferno has Evolved…

Lana Harvey is a reaper, and a lousy one at that. She resides in Limbo City, the modern capital of the collective afterlives, where she likes to stick it to the man (the legendary Grim Reaper himself) by harvesting the bare minimum of souls required of her. She’d much rather be hanging out with Gabriel, her favorite archangel, at Purgatory Lounge. But when a shocking promotion falls in her lap, Lana learns something that could unravel the very fabric of Eternity. If the job isn’t completed, there could be some real hell to pay.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
A) I love studying religions and mythology, and I’m a big advocate for religious tolerance. While my primary goal was to entertain with a fun urban fantasy story, I also hope that the subtext of religious tolerance shines through a bit.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
A) This first book in the series took about a year to write.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
A) The research. It can get pretty interesting. I (along with many other writers) would probably be put away if our search engine history was ever exposed.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
A) Sticking to a schedule. I still think it’s sound advice to have a specific time slot to write… but I’m not very good at it. I’ll go a week without typing anything, and then write 13,000 in one weekend. It’s very hit and miss for me.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
A) Joss Whedon. Does this really need explaining? lol. Assuming I’d have full access to his thought process, I would love to know how the brain behind so many great stories works. How does he get into the creative zone? Where does his character inspiration come from? Who will he kill off next?

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
A) Wow. I’ve not been asked that one before. Let me run and check on that….

Other than condiments, the winner is this very sad pepper. It’s about 2 weeks old. It was too pretty to eat at first, and now it’s too shriveled. It is destined for the compost bin.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
A) The first book in a new paranormal series I’m starting will be out next spring, a Lana Harvey short story in an anthology is due out in May, and Death Wish, Lana Harvey book #5, will be out in the fall.
