What southern-grown, rock star Rick Chamberland doesn’t know about his family’s dark past comes to light when he returns home to Louisiana at the request of his mother. Meanwhile, Song Peters, a dutiful daughter taking care of a dying mother, dreams of the day she can break free of small town life and pursue her one true passion, singing. Rick meets Song and instantly sparks ignite.
They make beautiful music together and soon find that they share similar upbringings. Rick comes to learn that their families are supernaturally intertwined and that the one denominator (a demon by the name Nova) connected to both families threatens to destroy them all if they do not obey.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
The film Angel Heart (1987), the television series Supernatural (2005-), vamp novels and romance novels.
Q) How long did it take you to write?
About a year with edits.
Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
Being able to create the kind of character that I want to see.
Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Editing.
Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Beyonce Knowles-Carter. Because she’s from Texas also and she can sing and dance and can wear some couture fashion! She’s uber-rich but from what I’ve read is still down to earth and nice.
Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Spicy mustard. It is probably about six months old. I have no reason why I bought it in the first place.

A follow-up from Freakquency tentatively titled Talisman.
